Thick Honey Toast or famously known as Shibuya Toast has been gaining
popularity in Singapore. What's not to like about the combination of
milk bread, toasted and coated with butter and honey. This sinful
combination is just absolutely delicious.
Dessert Project - The Menu |
Opened by two young entrepreneurs, Tan Kay Gin and Gary Soh, Dessert
Project (“DP”) has increasingly becoming a popular best try
places for youngsters, dessert lovers and instafood spot.
Dessert Project - Ice Cream Selection |
Since LD is a Nutella lover, we decided to go with the Nutella thick
toast ($14.90). I was told by another Instagramer Jellylovesfood to
order it with extra butter. I did so and the gorgeous butter totally
soaks into the middle part of the 3” milk bread toast. The crusty
part are crispy, the melted nutella is thick and make a perfect
topping for the vanilla and not to be
miss the Ferrero Rocher ice cream. Truly a Nutellagasm!!

Spotted something interesting in their menu, Reverse Affogato ($5.50) I
decided to give it a try. Basically it is coffee ice cream with warm
milk, the opposite of normal affogato. The ice cream packs of of
coffee flavour, provide a good companion for the milk. As the coffee
is in the ice cream form, it is not as bitter as in shot of espresso.

Although the Shibuya Toast is the star here, don't hesitate to order
their waffle ($5.90 for plain) if you like. It is crispy on the outside and spongy on
the inside, simply tasty. Even the plain version was yummy with just
maple syrup drizzling on top with icing sugar, no wonder the whole plate are finished in the
ziffy.
Plain Waffle |
In short, Kay Gin and Gary has found the winning formula. Both the
Shibuya Toast and Waffle are great and of course their ice creams as
well. So if you are around Havelock road, and feel like some dessert,
give this place a try. Cheers!!
