Pheww, I can't believe it that it's November already. Which means that
we are approaching the end of 2015. To welcome the year-end
festivities, Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is offering an
extensive and exciting array of festive buffets.
Highlights of the Marriott Thanksgiving and Christmas Magic Menu are:
Roast Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing. The turkey was evenly roasted as
I tried both the breast and thigh meat. Both were tender and
succulent, yum! While stuffing helps to seasoned the turkey, it also
soaks up the juice from the turkey when it was roasted. If you are a
fan of turkey stuffing, I must say, it was one of the better one.
Shaped like a meatloaf or pate, it goes will with bread or with the
meat itself.

Prune & Pancetta Stuffed Roasted Pork Saddle. Pork crackling, one
of my favourite festive food. The prune and pancetta flavours are
infused into the meat and thanks to the skin that cover most of the
surface of the meat, it retain its moist and tenderness. Not
forgetting the crackling was thin and crispy. Yum Yum

San Daniele Parma Ham, Pork Rillettes and Foie Gras Royal & Fig
Coulis. No introduction needed for this parma ham. It is smooth,
paper thin and lightly salted taste make a good companion for the
sliced rock melon. The pork rillettes have a nice balance between
the intense flavour of the meat and fats. Instead of feeling
yucky from the fats, it act as binder to the shredded pork and make
it stick to anything that you applied it on. The Foie gras royal is
just Yum. Smooth, velvety and creamy, the fig and foie gras just work
well together.

Mash Potatoes and Lobster Bisque. The mash here is one of the
smoothest and creamiest mash potatoes that I ever had. It is
addictive, and most of us on the table went back for second servings.
One of the best dish of the night. The lobster bisque is robust with
a hint of bitterness, just as what you expect any good lobster
bisque.

For desserts, Marriott Kaya Namachoco Yule Logcake and Strawberry
Cream Raspberry Lychee are a must try. Although the kaya flavour in
the logcake is very subtle, the asian inspired choco flavour was just
a delightful with the log cake. The Strawberry Cream Raspberry Lychee
Jelly is easy on the palate and will definitely be a crowd favourite.

Overall, it was a very impressive line up from Marriott Cafe for this
upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas period. Although we did not see
everything on offer, from the sample that we had, there will be
