[CLOSED] Grand Mandarina – New Outlook for 2016 [MEDIA INVITE]

Grand Mandarina

It was more than 18 months ago, I was invited for food tasting in Grand Mandarina Singapore. (Review available here). I still remember vividly of their melt-in-your-mouth Char Siew, Crispy Roast Pork and the stir fried pork neck with glass noodle. It was one of the highlights of my food escapade in 2014.

Badoque – Humongous Beef Ribs

Badoque @ Bedok

A quick mention of the word Badoque in Singapore, beef ribs will be the first that come to mind. This Halal establishment open its door in 2008, and has been dishing out a superb dinosaur size beef ribs to foodies in Singapore.

In their original outlet in Bedok, the dining area are split into indoor and outdoor. However, considering the weather in Singapore, it will be best to stick with indoor during the day and try the outdoor in the evening.

Burp Kitchen & Bar – Gastropub Meal with the view of Reservoir [MEDIA INVITE]

Burp Kitchen & Bar

Burp Kitchen & Bar ('Burp'), a little cosy gastropub located at corner of Block 740 Bedok Reservoir Road. When you are seated inside Burp, you can enjoy the scenic view of Bedok Reservoir Park. Opened up by three buddies, Sarah and Ronald are the culinary team in charge to serve you the American with Asian fusion inspired meal at Burp.

The Bar

Following the recent salted egg craze in Singapore F&B scene, Burp offer 3 version of its own salted egg dishes. Salted Egg Tofu Fries ($8); Salted Egg Wings ($14) and Crabby Patty Burger ($18).

Rather than using the commonly available French Fries, Burp created their healthy version of fries using tofu. A quick glance it can be mistaken for luncheon meat. After a quick bite tasted like the pipa tofu served in Chinese restaurants. For the chicken wings, it was well fried with crispy skin and succulent meat.

Seasonal Tastes – Value Weekday Buffet [Media Invite]

Seasonal Tastes is the main dining location for The Westin Hotel Singapore. Located on the 32nd floor, surrounded with top to bottom glass window, it allow diners to enjoy the view of Singapore skyline. And what is amazing is that on Monday and Tuesday, the dinner buffet is priced at only $48++ per pax.

Part of Cold Seafood Selection

So what is on offer at Seasonal Tastes:
Cold Seafood Selection. Here you can get your fix for fresh oysters, chilled lobsters, crabs, prawns and mussels. My personal picked from this station are the oysters, lobsters and prawns. The oyster is fresh, briny with velvety texture. The lobster and prawns are solid with springy fresh texture. For dipping sauce, the wasabi mayonnaise with a dash of lemon got my pick.
