Welcome to RawR Kitchen |
The RawR
Kitchen is a Microbrewery cum bistro located in the new industrial
area of Bukit Batok. This Micro Brewery is the home base for On Tap
Fresh Brew Craft Beer, which is known for their English Bitter brew,
a heavily hoppy incarnation of an
under-appreciated beer style.
Brewing On Tap Craft Beer |
Notice from these water taps, oopps, I mean beer taps, Currently,
there are 11 different type of craft beer: Root Beer, Seasonal, Wheat
Beer, Orange Cider, Cranberry Cider, Brown Ale, Pilsner, English
Bitter, Dunkel, India Pale Ale (IPA) and Stout. Alas, it not due to
my medication, I will definitely gulp some of those beers. Anyway,
for the beer review, check
out the review by Ai Ling here.

Carbonara Spaghetti |
Bolognese
Spaghetti ($11) is a must try dish here. The bolognese sauce made
from trio mince meat (pork, beef and mutton) plus beer, stir and
simmer continuously for 5 hours. Resulting in a ragu that will make
an Italian Nonna proud. When you bit into the al dente pasta, you
will notice the soft texture of the meat that just melts in your
mouth. Topped with finely shaved parmesan, this dish is just yummy.
Bolognese Spaghetti |
As the
salted egg craze engulfed the whole Singapore, I will feel a bit
apprehensive to try any dish made from salted egg. However the Salted
Egg Wings ($7 for 3 pcs) is definitely a ease to my fear. The fresh
chicken wings are fried to crisp before coated with salted egg sauce.
According to the Chef, they mixed the salted egg with tofu to create
the thick yet velvety texture to the sauce. Let's just say the next
time I come here, this will be the second dish that I will order.
Salted Egg Wings |
Though we
only tried three dishes, we can see that the team
really put a lot of effort in the food. Starting from mid-June, RawR
Kitchen will install a new grill and I am so looking forward to see
what other dish they are coming up with.
The Drinking Menu |
The décor
of the place is “Raw” industrial minimalistic. It is kept as
simple as possible, but the cosy ambiance, friendly staff and the
alcohol are the characters of this place.
Part of the dining area |
The only
setback about this place you will have a bit of problem locating it.
It is at the back lane of Bukit Batok Crescent, between The Elitist
and Unity Centre. Once you enter The Splendour compound, it is the
first building on the left, on top of the Japanese restaurant. Hope
you find this hidden gem.
On the
weekend, check out their Beer Buffet. $35 nett for 2 hours of free
flow of their craft beer.
Overall,
the RawR Kitchen is truly a hidden find. The food and drink is just
great and it is definitely worth the trip to the west side. Cheers!!
Thank you
very much for the RawR Kitchen team for the tasting invitation.
