The House of Robert Timms @ Wheelock Place |
The House
of Robert Timms ('THRT') is one of the oldest Australian Brand that
we normally associated with coffee. I can relate to this as LD's
brother drinks THRT brand of coffee at home.
Robert Timms Selections |
THRT in
Wheelock Place is the first branch of THRT in Singapore, which opens
in 2010. Drawing inspiration from the brand's heritage and origin,
the bistro showcase the simple and hearty Aussie flavours. The décor
is bright, simple and very open, very similar to those modern coffee
chains around the world.

Robert
Timms' Ultimate Fry Up ($25). Instead of having a set breakfast, THRT
will ask you to build your own fry up. You can choose 1 type of eggs,
2 type of proteins and 3 type of veggies and more. Our tasting sample
was scrambled eggs, bacon + smoked salmon, grilled tomato + arugula
salad + sautéed mushrooms. A slice of brioche is part of the fry up.
Robert Timms' Ultimate Fry Up |
The
scrambled eggs is smooth and creamy, just the way we like it. The
crispy bacon is to die for. Crispy with a hint of fats (ok... a bit
more than a hint of fats), accompanied with mild flavour smoked
salmon. The mushrooms and tomato is nicely done, a good combination
with the bitter arugula. Definitely my kind of breakfast, or a good
hangover cure.
Aussie
Baby Ribs ($28). it comes with two mid-size slab of ribs with sticky
home-made special sauce. The meat of the ribs is cooked till its fall
of the bone. Don't expect the messy ribs drenched sweet and savoury
sauce, instead it is a well coated ribs in which the marinate was
well absorb by the meat. The salad is lightly dressed with balsamic
vinaigrette and the fries was thick and crispy.
Aussie Baby Ribs |
Overall,
THRT food is typical Aussie wholesome, tasty and unpretentious.
Expect generous portion of servings providing you with value for
money. Best of all it is open until 1AM everyday. Wow!!
