Most Magnificent Lunch Menu |
My 3
course lunch started with Swiss Chalet Soup. Consist of pasta, root
vegetables and rich chicken broth. It was a good starter, especially
on a rainy day. The cloudy chicken broth is robust and filled with
the essence of chicken. The cubed chicken breast is tender while the
rest of root vegetables are crunchy and providing different texture
and flavours to the dish. The pasta here are short spaghetti added
for additional texture and to soak up the robust broth. Definitely a
comforting starter for a cold weather.

For the
main, I chose Tagliata Con Rucola (add $5). The steak is lean,
meaty, tender and well-seasoned with Cajun seasoning. The meaty
flavour from the steak bodes well with the shaved parmesan, arugula,
with roman cherry tomatoes. Instead of adding a sauce to it, the dish
uses the salad dressing combination of balsamic vinegar and olive
oil. For me, it is more like beef salad starter, instead of steak
main meal.

Dessert
was Spiced Dark Chocolate Mousse. A creative creation and nicely
plated desserts. Solid chocolate moose which is creamy and rich, with
the sides of bay leaf jelly. The mixed berries are topped with
spices, making it a lively and spicy dessert. A creative creation
indeed, but chocolate and spices combo here is just not to my liking.

Overall,
the opening of Montreux Jazz Café
Singapore will definitely add to the vibrant dining and entertainment
scene in Singapore. The gastronomical journey will focus more on
Modern European style, where it taste is bolder. Definitely a place
to check out and chill out. If you are a Jazz fan or a foodie, MJCS
is definitely a place to try. Cheers!!
