Singapore Sentosa is one of the resorts located on Sentosa Island.
Blending intricate French design with Singapore's colonial heritage
plus the panoramic view of South China Sea, you can look forward to
memorable stay in this resort.

Kwee Zeen
is one of the four dining choices in Sofitel Sentosa Singapore. It
focuses on pan-Asian specialities and classic French cuisine. Kwee
Zeen opens 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From Monday
to Wednesday, it is ala carte. Thursday is ala carte plus the option
of Cheese Rendezvous. Friday to Sunday will feature the French
Rotisserie Buffet.
Traditional Coffee Machine |
Check out
the video below for the highlights of the French Rotisserie Buffet.
The Roasts are definitely the star of the buffet. On that evening, The Rotisserie offered roast beef, roast pork and roast chicken. The roast chicken is a must-try. Tender, succulent with meat that falls off the bones. The seasoning is just right. It was so good, every time the chef carves a new bird, it was gone in a jiffy.
The roast beef and roast pork use the leaner part of the animal. The
roast beef is roasted to medium rare, meaty, juicy and goes well
with the gravy. While the roast pork loin was a bit dry, making it
difficult to chew.
Oysters,
Cold Seafood, Sashimi and Sushi.
Kwee Zeen focuses on serving quality seafood instead of quantity. The
Irish oysters, known for its fresh brainy nature will ignite your
appetite. Coming second is their chilled prawns, you can't get it any
fresher unless you caught it from the sea yourself.
The
cooked dishes are divided into 2 sections, indoor and outdoor. The
indoor selection focus on the western side. My personal pick is their
Truffle Macaroni Pasta Gratin, which more like my comfort food and
suitable companions for the roast.
The
outdoor sections offered Local dishes, Chinese cuisine plus Indian
Cuisine as well. We tried the laksa in their DIY noodle section. The
broth is spicy, filled with spices, but somehow missing the Omph!! We
find the laksa soup was slightly toned down to meet the International
palate. The prata and curry more suitable for breakfast offerings
instead of dinner. I wish they went with something more daring such
as Biryani and other more popular Indian dishes.
Bread,
Cheese and Cold Cuts are something that I will normally skip in a
buffet, but it seems there are invisible strings that pull me to try
them. The bread is freshly baked, provided a simple pairing with
butter and cold cuts. The Grissini make a good nibble to accompany
the cheese.
Part of Cheese Station |
You must definitely save some space for desserts. Chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream get my two thumbs up. Hopefully you also get the Artisan Chocolates, made in-house by the chocolatier cum pastry chef here. They are just gorgeous.
The décor
of Kwee Zeen is definitely classy and grand. The high ceilings, wide
windows and rich colours make the restaurant create a vibrant
atmosphere in the restaurant.
Overall,
French Rotisserie Buffet Nights
definitely look promising. The spread is good considering the crowd
and location. The French cuisine dishes remain their strong point.
Expect some tweaking to be done in the menu to make it more yummier.
Cheers!!
